You may recall Australian Airlines which existed for a short four years in Australia – between 2002 and 2006. This is what the aircraft looked like.
Would you like to join in? The rules are very simple:-
1. post photos of your choice, old or new, under the Sunday Selections title
2. link back to River at Drifting Through Life, somewhere in your post
3. leave River a comment so that she knows you’ve joined in and can come over and see what you’ve posted.
Weekly Wrap Up –
I’m only going to give you one link this week. I’m sure you’ve seen the news about the flaperon possibly from MH370 washing up on Reunion Island. If you want to keep up to date on happenings, my advice would be this thread on PPRuNe – Flaperon washes up on Reunion Island for all the latest info plus discussion from actual pilots.
Snoskred On Holidays
For the next two weeks, Snoskred will be taking a holiday from the blog. My Aunt and Uncle will be here visiting, The Other Half has holidays booked, and my intention is to put the laptop away for most of, if not the entire, time.
You won’t see comments from me on your blogs while I’m on holidays. It is not you, it is me. ;) I just need a break. I’m quite determined and committed to taking this time off!
I probably will not be keeping up with my blog reading, meaning I will return to a lot of posts to read. So you might get comments on older posts from me mid August.
I’ve got photo posts scheduled for the next two weeks, but I am giving you a holiday as well – I’ll be turning off the comments on my holiday photo posts.. today will be the last post you can comment on until I return.
I’ll be back on Monday the 17th of August. :)
Another beauty I didn’t see in the flesh as it were. I really like it when we celebrate our indigenous roots and would like to see more of it.
Have a wonderful holiday.
I too would like to see a lot more of these kinds of designs on our aircraft. :) Thanks Elephant’s Child! ;)
I remember the planes, but had forgotten they were Australian Airlines. Like EC, I wish there were more of these decorated planes still around.
Me too River, it is lovely to see different things flying around.. ;)
We have had so many small airlines start up and fail. I heard the other day that Virgin has taken over Tiger.
Enjoy your blog break and time with family.
I had not heard that, Andrew – I may need to check that out.. ;)
Thanks, I will try to have an awesome time. :)
Have a great break. Will miss your posts..
Lbeth – the good news is, my break is inspiring multiple posts. It has been almost 36 hours, and I have four drafts plus a post about my bolognese sauce which is simmering on the stove presently. :) Plus, my kitchen had a super deep clean this morning, we got a brand new oven installed, and once I have rested here about 10 minutes, I’m going back to the kitchen to start cleaning out the pantry.
Thus far, many happy moments occurring here at home. :)
