So just lately I haven’t had a lot of time for me. As I type this I am in the process of creating at least 5 blogs. And then theres the volunteer work in the community which I put my hand up for a while back. Not to mention the house work.
I do think it is very important to have some time that is just me time, time when I don’t check my email for an hour or so, time when I switch off and relax. I have a pretty strict routine on weekdays otherwise nothing gets done. I always take an hour at lunch time to sit and eat lunch and watch a show. It was The West Wing for a long time there but recently I got season one and two of NYPD Blue. I have been wanting to watch that show in order for a long time now.
I also have been taking some time out in the evenings to check out a few new shows which have turned up on a new channel we have here on Pay TV, a channel called Showcase. There is one show called Dexter. It is twisted but I kinda like it.
Tonight I did something very rare for me. I sat down for two and a half hours to watch a movie I had wanted to see for a long time. In fact I mentioned wanting to see it here on the blog in October of 2006. It was The Departed with Leonardo Di Caprio, Mark Wahlberg, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson and Martin Sheen, as well as many others. This movie did not disappoint. It was fantastic.
It was nice to have a short break from all the work but tomorrow it is get shiznit done fast day. I want to get a lot of work done. So I’m off to bed now. ;)
We loved The Departed! I am glad you got to take some time for yourself.
Glad you finally squeezed in some time for yourself to see a movie you wanted. Heck it only took you over a month to finally get to it! ;) Sleep well and hopefully you get done all you need to get done tomorrow!
Good on you for taking time for yourself! I’m doing mine this morning by getting my nails done. It’s my guilty pleasure. That and the coffee I have either before or after with a magazine I’ve been waiting for (today it will probably be Money Magazine).
My advise is to forget the housework – replace it not with work but some time for you.

PS: Love the Chrissy music in the background
And on Saturday night I sat down and watched a movie, something I haven’t done in who knows how long. Guess which movie? It was great.
Anyway, hope you’re having a productive day today, getting through everything you want to.
I used to eat lunch to NYPD Blue.
Good on you! I need to start scheduling some me time. Hang on I think I have! Friday night I am off to dinner with my bestie. Wine, Indian food and more wine. And if I play my cards right a bit of a sleep in on Saturday!!!
Hope you have a restful nights sleep :)
