Welcome to my feedreader, bloggers.
There are 34 of you. In my internet travels I found my way to your blog, often because I read a blogger who linked to you. I liked your blog a lot. While there, I probably read back about 40+ posts or so. Then I added you to my feedreader.
Most of you will know what a feedreader is, but in case you do not, click here for info. The quick run down – it is an awesome program which collects new articles that bloggers post. So when you post something new, I get a copy, and if I have the time and something to say, I will click through and comment. If you want to get a feed reader, I highly recommend Inoreader, which I have been using a lot lately.
At the end of 6 months or so, if I am still loving your blog as much as I did when I added you to my feed reader, I will add you to my permanent blogroll. YAY!
And it has now been six months since July, so this month I have gone through that process and the blogs which I am keeping are these –
Adventures in HEL
Alison Asher
And I Get Dressed
Drifting through life
My Vintage Childhood
These blogs have all been added to my permanent blogroll. Welcome aboard!
So why did I unsubscribe from 18 of the 23 blogs? I wrote a pretty decent post a long while ago with 14 reasons readers unsubscribe from your blog – and for this group, the reasons were as follows listed in no particular order –
Where Are You? – You Went Quiet – You’re A Wanna-be – I’m not feeling it – Your Content Was Negative – and four new reasons – you made your blog private – you deleted your blog – you only provide a partial feed – you wrote something I totally disagreed with and it annoyed me so much I hit unsubscribe.

It is interesting how you can connect with some people and not others or vice versa. I like to remember those who disappear, hence my “Resting, dead or infrequently updated blogs” list.
I have a huge section in my feed reader for blogs who I had connected with and read for a long time who have either disappeared or gone quiet like a submarine.
But I do want my blogroll to be somewhere people can find blogs that are currently posting, or at the very least have posted once in the last 6 months. :)
What I might do is make a bundle on Inoreader for the resting, dead, or infrequently updated, and link to that. :)
