Yay! I have begun to add the sequins to the Christmas Balls. For the first one, I have chosen a color scheme of Gold and Blue. The gold sequins have a kind of holographic or opalescent effect on them, as you can see from the photos.
The blue is a fair bit lighter than it appears in the photos. The flash seems to darken the color a bit. You can see how the gold has elements of greens, blues, reds and pinks due to the holographic effect. Here is another shot from a bit of a distance.
So now it is just a matter of adding more sequins until I’m done. :) These will not be perfect, but that is part of the point. I think I will give this to one of my nephews.. :)
Wow, those Christmas balls will be wonderful for sure.
Very pretty! I would love to see a gold and blue one finished.
This is a reminder of a great idea!
I have two girls who would love to make these – and they’d be a lovely Christmas gift for their teachers too. I’m going to dig around in my ‘odds & sods’ sewing baskets.
Thanks – I’ll keep checking in on the progress.
